Course Description

This training provides fire investigators with foundational knowledge in the field of fire scene photography. 

Attendees will receive hands-on training with their supplied camera to understand its operation and capabilities. 

Attendees will learn:

• Proper methodology to thoroughly photograph a fire scene
• Documenting the scene
• Investigative processing & findings
• Specific training will be given to ensure scene photographs adhere to the Scientific Method and follow accepted investigation practices. 
• How to manipulate the camera and navigate the interaction between depth-of-field, shutter speed, and exposure
• How to recognize the importance of focal point and supplemental lighting and demonstrate this understanding by properly photographing fire artifacts, evidence, and fire scenes.
