Course Description

This course provides instruction related to the core skills used by carpenters in residential and commercial settings.

Topics include:

  • Safety
  • Hand/power tool use
  • Site preparation
  • Measurement and layout
  • Footings and foundations
  • Construction framing
  • & other related topics

Upon completion, students should be able to construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; wood stairways, window and door frames, and hardwood floors.
