Course Description

The instructor will provide the investigator with advanced and proven methods of investigating residential and commercial property crimes.   Investigative techniques will be presented focusing on property related crimes.  Topic areas will include: arriving at the scene (the preliminary steps), interviewing the victim, witnesses, and the suspect, evidence collection, crime scene investigations, undercover and sting operations, informant issues, follow-up procedures, prevention, tracking of stolen property, and community involvement.  Practical exercises will be conducted throughout the course and a class discussion on current cases that the students have been assigned to investigate.
