Course Description

Focusing on proper procedures in the discovery and exhumation of buried remains and surface skeletons,  students will be provided with the skills needed to identify gravesites and to properly document, exhume, collect, process, and preserve evidence. Students will learn how to examine topography layout for possible gravesites and describe procedures for proper exhumation of skeletal remains.  The course will include classroom involvement, practical field exercises (exhumation), crime scene techniques involving surface skeletons and buried bodies. This class has a lot of hands on activity.  All participants must wear boots that are above the ankle for filed exercises.
